UPDATE – FALL 2001
August 15, 2001
THIS
NOTE SHOULD GO TO ALL COACHES AND CLUB OFFICIALS.
Here is important information about our sportsmanship program as we head into another season. We will be completing the implementation of most of the existing program so that the awareness increases and the mandatory meetings for all parents can be added next year.
1) SAGE PAPERWORK
The web has been updated to reflect the elimination of the SAGE coach card.
Coaches should now sign the Coach's Sportsmanship Pledge form, instead of the card.
Parents and players also sign their respective pledge forms.
The forms are on our web site. If you wish to be faxed those pledge forms in an 8 1/2 x 11 format, email Mike Schapiro at mike-s888@home.com with your fax number.
2) MEETINGS FOR COACHES
We are in the process of firming up dates for these mandatory meetings. At least one coach from each team must attend one of these meetings each season. The sessions include updates on rule or procedural changes along with new information about SAGE.
3) MEETINGS FOR TEAM SAGE REPRESENTATIVES
(parents)
We will be completing these meetings for two parent representatives per team early in the season for the regions which did not have them last spring. The MID-EAST, CENTRAL, and SOUTH regions are involved, but parents from other regions who did not attend a prior meeting are invited to come to either of these meetings:
Tuesday, September 25th, Monroe High School, 8:00 pm; and
Tuesday, October 2nd, East Brunswick High School, 8:00 pm
If you need details on who attends, etc., see "The SAGE Program in brief" on our web site and check with your regional v-p.
4) SAGE MATERIALS FOR CLUBS
We will be distributing additional SAGE signs for fields, probably at the general meeting for representatives of each club on September 6th. Other materials may also be given out at that meeting.
